music monday! too hot to handle

music has always been really important to me.  i'm constantly on the lookout for new music and my tastes range from the classics of all ilk to that of a 13 year old girl.  i grew up singing in several choirs that took me lots of different places (i've sung in the sydney opera house.  true story), and although i don't sing anymore music still remains something that i can't live without.

for the last 6 months or so i've been on a huge soul/funk/disco kick and it's been fun learning as much as i can.  i wanted to start doing a regular post where i highlight something that i've been listening too and love, so, for the inaugural post i'm bustin' out with heatwave's "too hot to handle" (i know, with that lead in it should have been rick james).

"too hot to handle" is the title track on heatwave's 1976 album which featured "boogie nights".  i can't get enough of heatwave and it was hard just choosing one song, but here it is.

when i was searching for a video to post i found this one and it's amazing!  i mean, they're wearing turbans!  nuff said.
