bodega bags

i've been making these bags for a couple of years now.  it's simply a regular plastic bodega bag that you get  from the corner store, that i cut apart, made a pattern, and then made out of fabric.  these have become my primary grocery/everything bags; they're strong, cheap, fit in your back pocket, and washable.  i started making them for the restaurant i work for to carry deliveries in--to replace the hundreds of plastic bags we go through a week.  much to the owner's chagrin, they often disappear, so i replenish them every once in a while.  one of the delivery drivers told me that some of his delivery friends from other restaurants wanted to know where to get some, so i've made a batch and they will be available at B's bikes in greenpoint for $5.  get 'em while they're hot!

on the quilting front, the hand stitching has begun on phobos.  i'm planning on machine quilting the black background, but haven't decided what kind of pattern it's going to be yet.
